Nicola Vucinic

It was an important experience for sure. I wouldn't say that professional and academic growth is the main "point of impact" for me. It is primarily in terms of my personal development, and through that professional development.

Kino Eyes was a precious, impactful, important and beautiful experience I am very grateful for. I think professionally, more than anything else it helped me recognize and more precisely pin point my lackings, problems and limitations I have as a filmmaker, it helped me understand more what film directing is, outside of the "author" driven cinema and educational background that I had, and I got a glims of professional relationship as they are in different, and more developed industry orientated cinemas.

It helped me distinguish these two "words" director and author. I feel that I didn't give and take as much from the process, as I could have if I approached it differently. In any case, I feel that Kino Eyes as a project is of immense value for anyone who undertakes it. It certainly was for me.It's not just important in terms of professional and academic development of young filmmakers it is an experience which develops much more than that. Anything can be learned, and improved later, but the experience of sharing an intensive period of creative and academic endeavors with talented people from all over the world, living together in a culturally rich and diverse community and environment is a priceless privilege which developed us as human beings and filmmakers. That is what distinguishes Kino Eyes from other film schools, you can learn craft anywhere, but the beauty of Kino Eyes design is opportunity to formulate and expand your point of view in a way which can only be achieved through richness of an intensive creative process built around collaborations and friendships between people from all over the world.
