Kino Eyes was fundamental to my professional growth. Before the course, working in film was something extra I did whilst working another job, chasing low- paid gigs to get my foot on the ladder and improve my portfolio.

Being granted 2 years to work and solely focus on developing my skills, learning to use equipment I don't own or have access to and to grow and work alongside my peers was an incredible opportunity and not one I take lightly. Academically, all I knew about film before the course was based on my own learning and through trial and error. To be able to work closely alongside other departments was an awesome experience. However, the academic support I got definitely fluctuated throughout the course and at some points I felt very isolated, specifically in my specialisation and thesis work, not with the work on the Fiction Package.

I also really appreciated the opportunity to visit and work alongside industry professionals on y visit to Blazing Griffin in Glasgow. This was an eye-opening opportunity, not only because it gave me a taste of the 'real world' and the pace and quality you have to work at, but also because of the feedback and validation I got from objective outsiders on my work. I felt incredibly lucky to have that experience.
