This technical report was motivated in part due to the lack of verbalising my editing choices during the edit phase and making choices mostly based on feeling - a cut either felt right or didn’t. This report aims to better articulate the reasons behind the editing decisions taken and elaborate their effects on the narrative of the film. This project presented challenges with the believability of the narrative both in terms of storytelling and visual representation; therefore, this paper aims to identify the principles of both, editing theory and practical application that helped overcome these challenges to form a cohesive and compelling short film My Days of Night.
